Deal Brag!

This week's bill: $48.36! And that included about $10 worth of Atwood's ranch dressing (which, even though it's spendy, is worth every cent! Anyone else addicted?), so I think that is pretty amazing.

The highlights of my trip were the milk and cereal deal at Ridley's (although, it was milk, cereal and Go-Gurt for me), and the Meadow Gold treats and Keebler crackers at Kent's. I only needed 4 coupons plus the e-coupon at Ridley's for the milk and saved $32.16 total. And like always, I got several items that were not on sale (like the ranch dressing) just because we needed them.

I was super excited to get my Smith's ad in the mail today and see that this week's Friday Freebie is going to be one (1) FREE 2 liter TEN Soda (select varieties). AND SavingStar is giving 20% back on limes this week for their healthy offer!

I drink lots of diet pop, but my husband hates it. However, I have a recipe for a drink that uses 7-Up TEN that both of us agree is fantastic! Ever had a Lime Ricky at Arctic Circle? Here is my version of that tasty summer thirst quencher:

Marsha's Lime Ricky

12-16 oz. 7-UP (regular, diet or TEN)
1/4 whole lime, cut into 2 wedges
1 1/2-2 Tbl. Kool-Aid grape drink mix, dry granules (from the canister with sugar already added)
Ice 

Fill a large cup with a large serving of ice. Squeeze two lime wedges over the ice and drop the squeezed wedges into the cup. Add pre-sweetened Kool-Aid grape mix. Pour 12-16 oz (one to one+ cans, if not using the 2 liter bottle) of 7-Up over the ice, lime and Kool-Aid. Stir and serve. (All amounts can be adjusted to taste.)

Here is a picture of what the pre-sweetened Kool-Aid canister looks like. They have been on sale at Smith's several times for around $1 each (instead of the $4 price), and I stocked up specifically to make this yummy drink over the summer with my limes from my Kent's $10 bag!

Deal Brag!

As I was reminded at this week's coupon class that I attended, "Who wants to pay $50 for two bags of groceries?" Not this girl! Let's try $50 for this whole cart! Woot!

Now, that's more like it, huh? Here is the whole spread on my table:

This week's total bill, $52.98. (There are even a handful of items that I bought that were not on sale for great prices, but I got them anyway just because we need them this week... and I only used in-ad coupons!) Have I mentioned how much I love the Fill-it-Fresh $10 bags? (Yeah, I know, I sound like a broken record...) But seriously! It was like my birthday when I walked into Kent's and saw this sign:

I can only assume that because Ridley's was doing a $10 bag this week that Kent's decided to do an unadvertised bag as well. Since I LOVE Kent's produce, it was hard not to do a happy dance right there by the shopping carts. (Instead, I settled for strange looks from passer-bys while I took a picture of the sign instead.) I have some awesome recipes that I am going to use this week to use up a bunch of my potatoes and carrots from the $10 bags. I am also going to freeze some carrots for future use.

• One thing I didn't mention is that I like to print my spreadsheets in Landscape rather than Portrait. You may also find that you need to adjust the margins, size, or page breaks to get your grocery list to print appropriately. If you don't know how to do that, please leave me a comment and I might make another video just for you! That being said, many of the settings you are going to be looking for will be under the "View" tab (switch the view to "page break preview" and you can adjust your page breaks) or the "Page Layout" tab (to switch from landscape to portrait). The "print" dialog box that comes up when you are ready to print will have several helpful options in it if you explore there. Just make sure to do a "print preview" before you actually print if you aren't sure that things are going to look just right (ie. the last column gets pushed to it's own page, so when you print you get just one column and lots of blank space on a page... what a waste!).
• I mention in the video that Kent's and Ridley's are not accurately represented on the GrocerySmarts website. That is to say that Ridley's isn't listed AT ALL, and Kent's is listed but the ad is based off the Lee's ad and not everything matches up the way it should once you go into the store.
• So, how do you know that my list is accurate? What I do each week is take the Kent's and Ridley's printed ad and I search the GrocerySmart's website to find matching deals. If I can't find a particular item listed, I simply leave it off my spreadsheet. So you might notice that my spreadsheets only contain about 95% of the printed ads, but that is still WAY better than using GrocerySmarts for these two stores. So, typically, I only get it wrong if GrocerySmarts gets it wrong.
• If you are a keyboard person, like I am, and you don't want to "right-click" to copy and paste, you can also use the keyboard shortcuts of Ctrl C for copy and Ctrl V for paste (and Ctrl X for cut). Meaning, you hold down the Ctrl button, then press C to copy what is currently highlighted/selected on the screen.

• Fill It Fresh Produce Promo (except I usually like Kent's produce more, so I would wait unless I could find some produce I really liked at Ridley's)
• Farm Bread, 24 oz. for $1.33
• Shasta 3 liter bottles for $0.97
• Nestle Toll House Morsels 11 oz. for $1.47 with online coupon
• Western Family Greek Yogurt, 6 oz. for $0.58, submit to Checkout 51 for $0.50/1, making one of them only $0.08!
• Western Family Yogurt (regular), 6 oz. $0.35, submit to Checkout 51 for $0.50/1, making one of them FREE!!!! (you can only use the CheckOut 51 once, so you need to choose between the Greek or regular... but choose wisely!)

Smith's-

• Milk $2.50 a gallon, submit to Ibotta for $0.25/1 making it $2.25 (can only use the Ibotta milk rebate once a week, so if you get your milk and Ridley's first, you can't do this again at Smith's)
• Eggs Large Dozen $1.25
• Smith's has some yogurt on sale for Dannon and Yoplait that you need some coupons and CheckOut 51 for, plus you have to buy multiples because of the coupons. It's still a good deal that I would do, but if you aren't picky about brand, Western Family at Ridley's is cheaper this week with NO coupons (only CheckOut 51) and you don't have to buy multiples. Again, you can only get the CheckOut 51 rebate once, so if you go to Ridley's first, you can't use it again at Smith's. You can also get just one Kroger Yogurt, 6 oz for $0.33 and submit to CheckOut 51 making it FREE!!!
• Horizon Macaroni and Cheese $1.00 and then use $0.55/1 Smith's Digital Coupon* to get one box for $0.45
• 7Up or Pepsi 6 pk, 16.9 oz bottles for $3.00, use $2/2 Smith's Digital Coupon* to get them for $2 each
• Doritos $2.49 and then use $1/1 Smith's Digital Coupon* to get them for $1.49 each
• DiGiorno Pizza $3 then use $1/2 Smith's Digital Coupon* to get them for $2.50 each
• Dreyers Ice Cream $3 then use $2/2 Smith's Digital Coupon* to get them for $2 each
