It was just announced on Facebook that today is double coupon day at Ridley's. I have seen this happen once before a few months ago.
Want to be in the know? Just like the Ridley's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ridleysmarket?fref=nf
The last time this happened, I called our local Ridley's and confirmed with a manager that they were participating in the Facebook double coupon day. Then, when I went to the store and proceeded to checkout with my items, I just mentioned to the cashier, "I saw it was double coupon day at Ridley's on Facebook today only and I spoke to an manager here at the store to confirm that you guys are participating so I wanted to get my double coupons if I could..." and the cashier was super nice and rang up all my coupons twice. It was awesome! (Just keep in mind that they only double coupons up to a $1 in total value. So a $0.25 coupon becomes $0.50, and a $0.50 coupon becomes $1, but a $0.75 coupon will only become a $1, and $1+ coupons gain no additional value.)
However, I also had a friend who went in and mentioned, "Is it double coupon day?" and the cashier said, "No, we don't do double coupons anymore." She didn't mention the fact that it was a Facebook promotion and she didn't speak to a manager so she didn't get the deals...
Bottom line: Don't be afraid to speak up. If you are specifically making a trip to the store JUST to take advantage of double coupons, it pays to call in advance and confirm the deals. Then, at check out, don't be afraid to speak-up and ask for your double coupons. Some cashiers just might simply not be aware of the Facebook promo.
Happy Shopping!
