So, my mother saw my Facebook post about what I saved at Smith's this Friday and was skeptical. Of course, I had to explain that in my picture I am missing my two bottles of laundry detergent, but the total savings was accurate. She just said, "That doesn't look like $101 in groceries to me." Do you feel the same?
Well, I wanted to see for myself if the math on my receipt really added up, so I made a spreadsheet and sure enough, everything is exactly as it seems! Wanna a see for yourself? Here is a link to my spreadsheet:

Also, it dawned on me that I used the tax from my receipt for both the price I paid and the price I "would have paid" but in reality I think I would have paid even MORE in tax because the items would have cost more and tax is calculated based on a percentage of the price. Utah has two different sales taxes depending on the kinds of items you buy, which is too confusing for me to figure out, but the total cost probably would have been over $101 with the tax figured correctly... So, even better!!!
